Predictably named iPavement puts hotspots into the sidewalk
We know what it's like to be in a foreign country without a mobile internet connection. Although there are domestic options making it easier to connect our devices abroad, Spanish company iPavement wants to help confused tourists (and their confused devices) by seamlessly integrating hotspots into tiles -- which are seamlessly integrated into the ground. It's unclear whether users will have open access to the entire world wide web, or only controlled info about the city, but the service is at least free to use. The 24kg (53lb) tiles are slightly larger than normal, installed a maximum of 20 meters (66 feet) from one another and only work at temperatures between -10 - 45 degrees Celsius (14 - 113 degrees Fahrenheit). Touristy cloud apps like maps, coupons, and traffic updates in various languages are also a part of the deal, and you would look like less of a tourist without that huge guide to Madrid. Just lose the fanny pack and you'll be set.

Origin PC joins the 11-inch, rebadged gaming laptop party, outs the EON 11-S
Last week may have drawn to a close, but the march of Clevo news continues. On the heels of Maingear announcing an 11-inch gaming notebook, Origin PC is throwing its own ultraportable into the ring: the EON 11-S. Though this is a new model for the company (the smallest laptop it's ever sold, in fact), it's not quite fresh to us: this is the same exact Clevo-made notebook Maingear unveiled two days ago, only re-badged under Origin PC's brand and available in a wider range of colors. As far as performance goes, then, that means you can expect Ivy Bridge processors, a 2GB NVIDIA GT 650M GPU, Optimus graphics-switching technology and a battery rated for 6.5 hours of runtime. In Origin PC's case, the laptop starts at $999 (compared with $1,099 for Maingear), though you'll have to head over to Origin's site for a breakdown of what specs you'll be getting at that lower price.

Wiz Khalifa Has 'No Ill Will' Toward Waka Flocka Flame
'I don't have problems with people, because if I do, I address it,' Wiz tells 'RapFix Live.'

Wiz Khalifa isn't interested in beefing with Waka Flocka Flame. In fact, he isn't interested in beefing with anyone.
"I don't have problems with people, because if I do, I address it," he said when he appeared on Wednesday's "RapFix Live." "If I feel someone disrespected me or if I feel like somebody was mentioning me in an indirect way I'ma find out how to talk to that person and then we'll squash it from there."
There have been rumors of a Wiz and Waka tiff, but it wasn't until Flocka's December interview with DJ Kay Slay on his Shade 45 satellite radio show that eyebrows began to rise. During the interview, Waka said that Wiz had "no swag" and "hyped" his way to the top.
Rather than address his feelings in the media, Khalifa said he'd rather wait to speak to the "O Let's Do It" rapper face to face. "What would I say to him? I really want to say it to him. We'll save it for that, it don't gotta be a public thing. It don't gotta be a peace meeting or nothing like that."
On Tuesday, Waka appeared on Angie Martinez's Hot 97 radio show in New York, and when he was asked about his problems with Wiz, Flocka said the issue was "deaded," but he didn't back down from his original statement. "I voiced my opinion because it's true and it's facts," he said before making some type of amends. "That's a nice guy he makes good music, I got cousins who like his music."
Whatever the case, Wiz won't feed into the negativity. "I never felt no ill will, he has his lane and when his songs come on in the club, people go crazy," Wiz said. "And people like to get high to Wiz Khalifa, so get used to it, baby."

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin hits the web, with HUD in tow
It's here! Precise Pangolin or, as it's officially known, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Canonical's latest is now available in its final(ish) form and ready for you to download, burn and install. While LTS (Long Term Support) releases are generally more conservative in their application of new features, Pangolin does include some rather notable tweaks. The most immediately noticeable will be the new log in screen which, while largely the same, does have the slick new trick of changing wall papers to match the selected user. A more subtle change is revealed once you've logged on and press alt -- HUD. The new search-based menu system is quite a departure from traditional interaction models, and one that will come as a relief to those who constantly forget where a particular option is buried. Perhaps the most welcome change, though, is the vastly improved performance and power management. Ubuntu, for all of its finer points, has never been particularly battery friendly. But Canonical is promising that is going to change. We'll have to wait to find out once we get this bad boy installed on some machines of our own. Katie Holmes is reportedly pregnant again! The actress has faced these rumors before though so there is no telling for sure until a few months from now. Jennifer Hudson Exits Courtroom in Wake of Disturbing Photos
A day after taking the stand in the murder case against William Balfour - and breaking down when a photo of her mom was presented - Jennifer Hudson couldn't handle being in the same room with the man accused of killing her relatives.
Witnesses tell TMZ Hudson excused herself from the legal proceedings when prosecutors pulled out crime scene photos of Jennifer's seven-year old nephew Julian, who was allegedly shot by Balfour in a fit of rage.
He is also on trial for murdering Hudson's mother and brother.
David Otunga, Jennifer's fiance and the father of her son, remained inside the courtroom after Hudson departed and, insiders say, jotted down notes about the crime scene. Our hearts and thoughts go out to Jennifer and her family.

With 7B Photos, Flickr Debuts New Speedy, HTML5 Image Uploader; Drag And Drop Interface, And More
Yahoo's photos sharing site, Flickr, has been steadily redesigning a number of components of its platform over the past few months, including editing (courtesy of Aviary), photo views and more. And today, Flickr, which says it is home to more than 7 billion photos, is debuting a new, speedier, HTML5 photo uploader for images. With the HTML5 technology, Flickr's uploader has a more robust experience, including drag and drop functionality. So instead of only being able to upload manually, you can add photos by dragging them into the browser. Yahoo will also show your thumbnail previews of photos, so you can manage and reorder photos before they hit your photostream.
