The city's Campaign Finance Board slapped 2013 mayoral hopeful Bill Thompson with a $17,020 fine for a laundry list of violations in his 2009 run for City Hall.
Our Tina Moore reports the violations and penalties are as follows:?
Accepting contributions over the "doing business" limit, $5,600
Accepting contributions from unregistered political committees, $4,600
Accepting over-the-limit contributions, $2,500
Making impermissible post-election expenditures of $16,205, $1,620
Accepting five corporate contributions, $750
Failing to report or adequately respond to questions about intermediaries, $600
Failing to report attributions for contributions from partnerships and LLCs, $800
Failing to file daily pre-election disclosure statements, $350
Failing to provide intermediary affirmation statements, $200
Maintaining a petty cash fund greater than $500, No penalty .
The penalties were taken out of the public funds Thompson received during the race, the Campaign Finance Board announced.
